In partnership with JCC Sidney N. Shure Kehilla, the Gan Project, a Jewish social and environmental justice organization, is pleased to announce the next dinner in their Eat.Talk.Grow. series. This season’s dinner celebrates Rosh Hashanah L’Ilanot (the New Year For Trees) with “The Divine Meal,” a Tu B’Shvat Seder featuring a delicious gourmet vegan menu featuring the seven spices and dessert (sponsored in part by Karyn’s on Green) accompanied by festive music, meditation and schmoozing.  The event will be held at Emanuel Congregation (5959 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago), at 6:45pm on Tuesday, February 7th.  Participants will be provided with ceremonial wine and grape juice, but all other libations will be B.Y.O. (Wine, Beer, Spirits, Kombucha, Cider, Home Brew, etc.).

“So many times, around the holidays, people are forced to choose which event to attend from amongst the many amazing organizations that make up the landscape of the Jewish community,” said Jill Zenoff, founder of the Gan Project.  “We wanted to host an event that blends together these vibrant and diverse groups.”

The Gan Project and Kehilla are collaborating with The Center for Jewish Mindfulness,Mishkan ChicagoMoishe House – Lakeview and Avodah: The Jewish Service Corps to create a unique event that will bring together their communities in celebration and the continual pursuit of Tzedek (justice) and Tikkun Olam (repairing of the world).

The Eat.Talk.Grow. dinner series brings people together to celebrate the holidays by exploring the Jewish calendar, a yearly cycle of season and time that is tied to history, the earth, the Jewish people and spirituality.
